Christopher Reeves’ Son Is Now All Grown Up and He Indeed Got The Good Looks Genes From Dad
Those who were born when Christopher Reeves was at the peak of his career know exactly how the “Superman” started to become the epitome of masculinity and good looks. The actor has easily won audiences not only of how good-looking he is but also because of his character as the superhero.
When he initially brought the legendary superhero to life on screen nearly forty years ago, Reeve earned his place in the hearts and minds of his fans. Even after a car accident in 1995 left him paralyzed from the neck down, he continued to inspire others by working as a writer, actor, and philanthropist, thanks to the support of his many followers.
He had three children, two of them, Matthew and Alexandra, who were with Gae Exton, and one, Will, with Dana who is the youngest of his children. The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation has been an effort for his children to carry on his legacy.
But among the three, it’s his youngest son, Will, who’s been drawing the most attention because he looked a lot like his father!
The 25-year-old recently attended the foundation’s “A Magical Evening” event earlier this year. The charity benefits from the event will go to the people who have been disabled by a spinal cord injury, similar to what happened to his father.
When Will’s father was paralyzed in an equestrian accident, he was only 4-years-old. He was a strong athlete and avid horseman. He was left paralyzed from the neck down after being thrown from his horse and breaking his neck during an equestrian competition in Virginia. Even when he was still a toddler, it was clear that both father and son shared a lifelong passion for athletics when he was growing up.
And when Christopher died in 2004, Will was just 11 years old. Then less than two years later, Will’s mother, Dana, died of lung cancer. But before she passes away, she already made plans for him to live with family members in his hometown where he grew up in.
Even though Will lost his parents at such a young age, the grief and loss that he has suffered haven’t dampened his spirits.
He got interned at Good Morning America, went to college, and now works for ESPN’s SportsCenter. Just like his father, writing and reporting seem to be in his blood.
Besides inheriting his parents’ features, especially those of his dad, Will has also inherited their humanitarian spirit. Back in 2016, he ran his first NY marathon to help raise money for their charity. And with the help of Team Reeve, he finished the race and went over the goal of $35,000.
In an interview with Today, he spoke about how the foundation is dedicated to helping others. He said, “Their passion for everything is what made them so special. They deeply cared about making a difference in the world in any context. It was a really special experience to grow up in a house with them setting that example. I try to carry on their legacy every day by just doing what I was taught.”
And when compared to his dad when it comes to his looks, Will takes it as a compliment. He said, “My parents were beautiful people on the inside, so if I can resemble them that way, I certainly appreciate the comparison.”
What are your thoughts about Will’s close resemblance to his dad?
