Dog Gets Head Stuck In Cinder Block Wall, First Responder Quickly Comes To The Rescue
Dogs are simply the best. They bring joy to our lives with their funny antics. Some would even understand their humans’ feelings and become their emotional support. They’re cute, cuddly, and pretty smart. But sometimes, they also do get themselves in trouble. They are very curious creatures and they sometimes find themselves in a very difficult situation.
Just like this dog from Phoenix. It seems like “Buddy” just let curiosity get the best of him. And as a result, it landed him in a very uncomfortable situation. Buddy is a 2-year-old American pit bull terrier. He has gone viral after the news of him circled the internet. Buddy got his head stuck inside a cinder block wall!
Nobody knew how long had he been in that very uncomfortable position, but luckily, somebody saw him and immediately called for help.
First responders with the Arizona Humane Society (AHS), Gracie Watts and Rob Grabowski, came to help Buddy. A good Samaritan reported finding Buddy at a new complex off 39th Avenue and Wier Avenue.
They needed to use both their patience and skill to help free the poor pup’s head. And Buddy waited patiently while the first responder carved away at the cinder block wall to set him free. He probably knew that he got himself into this trouble so he needed to be a good boy.
After about 20 minutes of patiently working their way through the cinder block without hurting the pooch, the first responders were able to create an opening big enough for Buddy to slide his head out.
According to the AHS press release, Watts and Grabowski “immediately got to work to slowly chisel at the wall around Buddy’s head to create a hole large enough to free him.” AHS added that after being freed, Buddy had a bit of swelling from where he got stuck. He was immediately brought to the AHS’ trauma hospital and got treated for a “few minor wounds on his head and neck.”
At first, everybody thought that Buddy was a stray dog. But when AHS tracked down his owner, Buddy’s family is in Glendale, about 10 miles north of where he was found. After a few days in their care, Buddy was reunited with his family and had been returned to “his loving home.”
Buddy’s story became so viral that online news outlets started picking up and sharing what happened. Inside Edition even shared a story about Buddy on their YouTube channel. The video now has over 270,000 views.
People can’t help but share their comments. Some even find Buddy’s reaction hilarious while the first responders were trying to set him free. One commenter wrote: “He was so calm and reserved. In fact, he kind of looked a little embarrassed. Poor fella, glad he’s ok.” Another said: ‘dog was so calm and understanding of his situation which made him look more cute and adorable.”
Others were also commended by the first responders who were patiently trying to help the pooch. This comment reads: “That’s actually crazy. Bless the guy that chipped away the block to free him.” And this commenter wrote: “Proud of my hometown’s humane society for freeing this pup! He is so cute.”
After what happened, there is no doubt that Buddy’s fur parents will keep him indoors for now. The situation that he got himself into was very serious. He was lucky that someone saw him and called for help right away.
