Famous Marching Band Leaves The Crowd Speechless After Their Epic Halftime Rush Tribute Performance

During a football game, fans are not only there to witness the game unfold. The halftime performance is also one of the most awaited moments of the event. And during the football games of the Ohio State University, fans come not only for the sport but also to witness the halftime show performance of their marching band.

At a recent game between Ohio State University and the University of Maryland, the Ohio State University Marching Band put on a 15-minute showstopping performance. Their performance was epic leaving the audience in awe.

The theme of their halftime performance was a tribute to the world-famous rock band, “Rush.” They performed the bands’ hit songs like “The Spirit of Radio,” “Limelight,” “Closer to the Heart,” “Fly By Night,” and “YYZ.” And not only that, but the marching band also performed difficult formations along with the music and tunes that they create.

The halftime show was meant to pay tribute to the band’s late drummer, Neil Peart. He died of cancer in 2020. He is considered one of the greatest drummers in history. To make the performance even more exciting and entertaining, the band added 20 toms and 20 extra cymbals to give their performance the extra “oomph.” There is no doubt that Peart would have loved this tribute for him.

Even though Peart is not around to say this, Rush’s Twitter account did it for him. In a Tweet, they wrote:

“We’re speechless.”

Ohio State University Marching Band posted the video with this caption:
“Join the Ohio State University Marching Band as we salute Rush, one of history’s great rock bands. We play lots of the band’s hits including “2112,” “YYZ,” “Tom Sawyer,” “Limelight” and more! Hope you enjoy! #GoBucks.”

Viewers can’t help but share their comments about their viral video.

One viewer wrote: “The musical tribute alone would have been satisfying enough, but with that choreography, it ascended to the level of utter brilliance. Precision and creativity are personified. Just as Rush did so have you all done, and well done indeed!”

Thank you so very much for doing this!! BTW, I’d love to hear the backstory of how this came to be.”

A Rush fan wrote: “This is absolutely extraordinary. Made this Rush fan swell with pride and love for the music, and musicians, who keep Rush going strong, including obviously the boys themselves. Here’s to Neil, and his memory, who lit the fires under so many, Geddy and Alex for the same, and these amazing musicians for this incredible tribute. And to all of my fellow Rush fans, who I view as brothers and sisters.”
