Fans Flood Reba McEntire With Prayers After The Singer Reveals Health News

Singer and actress Reba McEntire has announced that she has been placed on vocal rest by her doctor, and has therefore been forced to reschedule her upcoming performances. The 67-year-old, who is currently starring in the ABC drama Big Sky: Deadly Trails, made the announcement on Instagram, thanking fans for their support and understanding.

McEntire wrote, “An update about this weekend’s shows…My doctor has advised me to go on vocal rest, so I have made the difficult decision to reschedule this weekend’s shows. All tickets will be honored for the new dates: December 2 • Columbus, OH December 3 • Raleigh, NC December 16 • Indianapolis, IN Thank you for understanding! Love, Reba”

McEntire didn’t reveal what caused the strain on her voice, but it is a common occurrence among singers. While rescheduling shows is always a disappointment, vocal rest is often the only cure. McEntire’s announcement was met with messages of support from her devoted fans, who offered their well-wishes and encouragement.

One fan wrote, “Aww, always a hard call to make but good to put your health first!! Rest well!!!” Another said, “Rest up! We love your beautiful voice!! But we want you to keep it healthy! 💙” A third added, “Please rest and take care of yourself!! We love you and want you healthy!!!❤️❤️❤️”

McEntire is also scheduled to perform during next week’s CMA Awards in Nashville. It is not yet clear whether she will be able to sing during the November 9 broadcast, but fans are hoping to see her healthy and performing again soon.
