Heartwarming Performance As Rod Stewart Sings “Forever Young” On Stage With His Daughter

Rod Stewart is a British singer-songwriter whose soulful, raspy voice graced rock and pop hits beginning in the late 60s. Stewart rose to international prominence following the phenomenal commercial success of his landmark album “Every Picture Tells a Story” in 1971. Throughout his long career, the singer amassed a large number of fans. As a pop culture icon, he was responsible for a few hits, including “Maggie.”

It’s no secret that Rod Stewart is close to his eight children. That is why it’s not surprising that some of them have inherited ‘The Rodfather’s’ musical talents.

During a 2014 performance, the British singer and musician delighted an audience by sharing the stage with one of his daughters, Ruby, during a rendition of Bob Dylan’s song “Forever Young.” Ruby has achieved success as a model and a singer throughout her career. Her achievements have expanded to include songwriting.

As the pair took the stage, they sang confidently, with Rod often giving his then 27-year-old daughter the spotlight as they sang the beautiful lyrics of the song. And as they finish, the crowd could not contain their joy seeing these two together on stage.

Ruby had already made a name for herself. She recently composed music that was used in a soft drink commercial. She performed at CMC Rocks, Australia’s largest rock festival, last year. She shared the stage with Alyssa Bonagura.

Despite having five marriages, Ruby’s father found time to please a large number of fans during extensive live performances. During his joint performance on stage with Ruby in 2014, he boosted up Ruby’s singing career.

Rod Stewart’s talent and recognizable singing voice have made him an internationally loved entertainer. He has previously received numerous honors, including his own star on Hollywood’s popular ‘Walk of Fame.’ He was also inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s prestigious roster of musicians. His peers honored him with a number of Grammy awards in recognition of his significant creative achievements.

Despite the fact that many assumed ‘Forever Young’ was an original Stewart song, when it was recorded in 1988, it sounded so similar in lyrics and melody to a song of the same name by Bob Dylan that the two artists unusually agreed to share the publishing and royalty rights.

In 1995, Rod Stewart discussed just how close ‘Forever Young’ is to his heart. He also explained why it is one of his favorite songs.

During his interview with Mojo Magazine, Rod said, “I love ‘Forever Young’, because that was a real heartfelt song about my kids. I suddenly realized I’d missed a good five years of Sean and Kimberly’s life because I was so busy touring all the time. With these [younger] kids now I don’t make that mistake — I take them on tour with me, so I can watch them grow up. So that’s another favorite. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a big hit in England, but it’s like a national anthem here [America].”

Ruby Stewart, now 34, is the third of Rod’s eight children, with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg. She born in 1987. Ruby rose to fame as a fashion model and singer in the band “The Sisterhood,” which most recently performed a one-hour set at the CMC Rocks festival in Queensland, Australia.
