The Internet Can’t Believe This Dad-to-Be’s Reaction After Gender Reveal

During a gender reveal, you usually see the same reaction from the expecting parents. Dad and mom jumps with smiles on their faces as they share a tight embrace after this amazing surprise. And usually gender reveal moments are shared online. Somehow, this gives other people the right to judge you by gauging your reaction. And how this dad-to-be reacted during the gender reveal did not sit well with social media users

Travis Gober and Hannah Calverley do not know yet the gender of their baby. They decided to host a gender reveal party with their family and friends. Everyone was excited as they gathered around to learn if Travis and Hannah are going to have a baby girl or baby boy. What happened next though was something that they never thought would be perceived negatively by others.

It’s a baseball-themed gender reveal party. And during the actual gender reveal, Hannah will pitch a baseball and her boyfriend, Travis, will hit it with a bat. The ball will explode and reveal a blue or pink powder, which associates with the baby’s gender.

They held the grand reveal in an open field. All of their families and friends were excited to know which side got it right for the baby’s gender. Everyone has their phones out to record this momentous event.

In the video, Hannah throws the ball then Travis hits it with the bat. And when it exploded, and the powder scattered, Travis’ reaction was all caught on camera. The dad-to-be was shocked and overjoyed at the same time.

They were having a boy!

As soon as he realized this, he ran straight to his guy friends who were all jumping with him in excitement. But his excitement and joy that was caught on video was the reason why he went viral.

People can’t believe that Travis ran to his friends after the gender reveal while Hannah can be seen running after him. Hannah had to step aside as the guys were jumping up and down. People instantly had opinions about the incident. Him running towards his friends instead of going to Hannah was what caught the attention of the viewers.

The viewers were quick to point out his inappropriate behavior and criticize him for it. Almost as soon as the video got viral, people began harshly criticizing him for the way he handled the situation. Comments were flooding the post. One commenter wrote: “Should be a moment between the ma and dad first before ‘the boys.’” Another commenter added, “You deserved better than this.”

It became such a huge deal that even Inside Edition covered their story. This gave Travis and Hannah a chance to explain their side. Hannah also took this as an opportunity to defend Travis. She said, “Travis is a great guy. One 15-second video definitely does not show his character.”

To his defense, Travis said, “I was just really shocked it was a boy because I really thought it was going to be a girl. I wish I could go back and change it, but we all know I love her.”
