Kate Hudson Jokes How She Is ‘Pre-Planning the Planning’ Of Her Wedding To Danny Fujikawa
Every wedding is different and planning it takes a different process for everyone. And for Kate Hudson, she reveals that planning her wedding to fiancé Danny Fujikawa is starting to feel a lot like her 2009 film, Bride Wars. If you have watched the movie, then you know too well that this is not a good thing.
The 42-year-old actress admitted on November 8 that she’s “pre-planning the planning” of her wedding to the 35-year-old musician. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hudson shared, “Just kind of thinking of what we want to do and then I’m going back and forth between like, what is this really going to look like?”
The couple hasn’t officially stated a date or a venue for their wedding just yet. This is not because they are being apprehensive about tying the knot. She explained, “Obviously, we’re so excited. But the idea of planning a wedding is, like, a lot, it’s a lot. I made a whole movie about it.”
If you are following Kate Hudson’s career for sure you are familiar of the movie that she’s talking about. Just over a decade ago, Hudson starred alongside Anne Hathaway in “Bride Wars.” This follows the story of two bestfriends who had spent their whole lives dreaming about their perfect wedding.
Ever since they were kids, the BFFs agreed that the Plaza Hotel in New York City will be their only venue. Then all of a sudden, they both got engaged at the same time. After going to the Plaza Hotel to book for their venue, a clerical error leaves them both fighting each other for their dream wedding venue for the same date. The two women find themselves in a battle that could possibly end their life-long friendship for good.
Hudson is still not sure about the details of her wedding to Fujikawa but she already knows that her kids Ryder, 17, Bingham, 10, and Rani, 3, will surely play a part in this momentous event. She said, “I think they’re really excited. It was something they were really excited for, all of us, and I’m just really happy.”
While celebrating their one-year anniversary in December 2017, Hudson reflected on how they met years earlier while she was pregnant with Ryder back in 2004. She said, “His step sisters are my best friends [Sara Foster and Erin Foster] and so it goes we have been in the same circle for over a decade. A year ago today, Danny took me on a hike and what I thought was just a hike with a family friend turned very quickly into an unexpected first date. No moves were made on this first date. In fact, it took months for him to make a first move!”
Hudson was previously married to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, who is the father of her eldest son Ryder. They stayed together for six years before their divorce in 2007.
Planning a wedding is not going to be easy. But Hudson is not worried because she is sure that she will be tying the knot with her dream guy. It may take Hudson a few months before she makes any moves on their wedding but that’s alright with her. Weddings should not be rushed and every bride should take their time.
