Macy Gray Sparks Made A Lot Of People Angry With Her Comments On Piers Morgan Show

If you are a celebrity, you must be aware that everything you say during interviews or as a guest on talk shows, will be criticized by millions of people from all across the globe. That’s why when Macy Gray appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, and talked about some controversial topics, she was definitely called out for her comments on the show.

The first topic of their discussion was about the American flag. According to Gray, she is in favor of having a new national anthem. As she sees it, she believes that the flag should be updated too in order to reflect the current state of the United States.

The subject of racial discrimination was also brought up during their discussion. For Gray, racism in the United States has significantly diminished since she was a child in the 1960s. And both she and Morgan are in agreement that racism does exist anymore these days and that the vast majority of people in our country are not racist.

And while discussing the issue of race, they then turned to gender identity.

Morgan said to Gray, “If I asked you what a woman is, what would you say?”

Gray responded, “A human being with boobs… And a vagina.”

While they’re in this topic, Morgan then turned the discussion to transgender rights and sports. Everyone knows that this is a very sensitive topic. Morgan said, “I support all trans rights to fairness and equality, but not when you have people born to obvious physical superior bodies transitioning and then trashing the women at their sport.”

She said she agrees on supporting trans rights for “fairness and equality,” but she also agreed with Morgans’ view that trans women “born to obvious superior physical bodies” should be prohibited from competing against cis women in sports.

Gray said, “I totally agree. I will say this and everybody’s going to hate me, but, as a woman, just because you go change your parts, doesn’t make you a woman. Sorry.” She continued saying, “If you want me to call you a her, I will, because that’s what you want, but that doesn’t make you a woman just because I call you a her and just because you got a surgery.”

These comments did not sit well with the viewers. Morgan knew that they crossed the line. He even warned Gray that she might get “attacked” for her comments about the transgender community. The host said, “The cancel culture mob comes for them.”

Gray agreed saying, “I know.” But still, she said that she stood by her statements. She added, “But it’s the truth. I don’t think you should be called transphobic just because you don’t agree… There’s a lot of judgment and throwing stones at people for just saying what it is.”

In her defense, Gray said that her views come from her “completely unique experience” while growing up as a young woman, which she believes must be experienced in order to become a woman.

She explained, “Surgery or finding yourself doesn’t change that. Being a little girl is a whole epic book, you know? And you can’t have that just because you want to be a woman.” She then adds that she “doesn’t think you should be labeled transphobic just because you don’t agree.”

On Twitter, Grammy-winning “I Try” singer-songwriter expressed her displeasure with the way her statements were portrayed on the show.
