Nurse says she was told her scrubs are ‘inappropriate,’ sparks debate

Nurse Gets Heavy Criticism Online For Showing Off Her Curvy Body In “Scrubs”

Nurse Erika Diaz, 22, loves posting photos and videos of herself online, especially on TikTok. Then one day, she received this comment – “Why do you dress in your scrubs like that? It’s improper!”

The nurse has since gone viral on the social media platform when she posts pictures and videos of herself wearing her scrubs. People find it inappropriate but she feels that this is the proper way to actually wear them.

What she does is she simply draws her top inside her pants. But that reveals her natural body shape and she has voluptuous curves. This does not sit well with some of her audience.

In the video Nurse Erika shows off her scrubs for the first time. She then cuts to a picture of how the scrubs should be worn. In the picture she showed, four women are wearing their scrub tucked into their matching pants.

And that’s exactly what Erika Diaz was doing with her scrubs. The issue though was that Erika has different body proportions compared to the models in the online advertisement that she shared. She is curvy and that is more prominent when she wears her scrubs as instructed in the advertisement.

As a result of Erika’s viral video, many people are now raging online. But that only boosted the views and reactions to her post. More than twelve million people have watched her videos so far, and that number is still continuously climbing.

In the comments section, she kept arguing with viewers about how she wore her scrubs. In response to those who bash her, Erika posted a video. In the caption, she wrote: “Some people just have an issue with my body, not my scrubs, and it shows. Just for clarification, I am 5’2” and 107 lbs. I’m short and little. Y’all can say my body is fake all y’all want. It’s not. Ask my back problems.”

This did not stop people from criticizing her in the comments. One user wrote: “It’s just not professional.” Another said, “You simply can buy one bigger size to give you space to breathe.” This user also commented saying, “I’m an old school director.” Another person wrote: “I’d never allow that on my floor. I don’t want to see nails, perfume, or style. Keep that at home where it belongs.”

And for those who are calling her unprofessional and continue to spread hate about her video, she said: “I literally work two jobs, volunteer, and I am still studying. I’m devoting my life to the improvement of others, and anyone’s opinions are irrelevant. I’m literally not wearing makeup, have my nails done or my hair for that fact. It’s literally just scrubs tucked in, so I don’t get stuck.”

Even though she has plenty of haters, others show their support for her. One person took up her side, saying, “Anyone saying ‘buy a bigger size.’ It doesn’t really work like that. Sometimes a bigger size will be too big on the arms and too long.”

The haters also did not stop her from posting more photos of her in her scrubs. In one of her posts, she wrote: “How I feel walking into work after some of my coworkers found my TikTok account lol. They don’t care, though, I will be telling them my whole life story, too, haha.”
