Rosefinches are from the songbird family, Fringillidae. They are about 15 cm long. Both male and female Rosefinches have a pink color. These birds have always been pink but there are different kinds of Rosefinches that also have a deep red color compared to the others. But most of them have a range on the pink spectrum with a combination of different colors. There are about 25 to 30 species of rosefinches.

Dark-Rumped Rosefinch (Carpodacus edwardsii)
This species of finch can be found in Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, and Nepal. The Dark-Rumped Rosefinch’s natural habitats are boreal forests and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.

Great Rosefinch (Carpodacus rubicilla)
This species of finch is commonly found in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. They can also be found east to China. Its natural habitats are tundra and temperate grasslands.

This species is also known as the ‘Spotted Rosefinch.’ They are commonly found in India and Nepal. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.

Streaked Rosefinch (Carpodacus rubicilloides)
They are commonly found in the Himalayan Plateau. Its natural habitat is the boreal shrubland. There are two subspecies of streaked rosefinch. The C. r. Rubicilloides can be found in East Tibet to Central and Southern China. The C. r. Lucifer can be found in southern Tibet and the Himalayas.
