Good Samaritans are not always humans. Sometimes, they are also animals. We know that dogs are naturally sweet and loyal especially if you know how to treat them right. But out of the many dog breeds, pit bulls are one of the least favorite. Some people are afraid of having a pit bull as a family pet because they have a bad rap of being feisty towards humans.

But one pitbull named “Karma” is proving to the world that these dog breeds can be loving and sweet to humans too. However, Karma was not in a good condition when she was found.

Hope for Paws received a call about a pit bull in Long Beach. The pooch was clearly injured. People notice her but they had been walking past Karma even though they are aware that the pooch was injured. Probably because they did not want to mess with a pit bull. But Hope for Paws decided to go out and help.

When the rescuers arrived at the scene, Karma was hiding under a bush. It was clear that she was totally afraid and hurt. Her leg was broken and she needed to be fed. Anybody can see it in her eyes that she had been through quite a bit of abuse in her life and probably while living on the street.

Karma was probably sitting under the bush for a long time, waiting for someone to be kind enough to help. But people went about their business. Then Hope for Paws went out of their way to make sure that Karma got the attention and help that she needed.

The rescuer carefully approached the poor pup and offered her food. Karma was a little afraid but she finally accepted it and started to trust her rescuer. Then they knew that the next step was to get a leash on her and see if they could bring her somewhere, to a place to receive treatment.

The rescuer gave Karma a few head pats and she was totally trusting now. Karma didn’t want to hurt anyone, she was just scared and needed someone to care for her. And within moments, she was snuggled up into this human’s arms and started giving him kisses.

Then the rescuer was able to get her in the car. Karma didn’t show any problem with her rescuer. She was totally willing to follow the man.

As it turned out, Karma would probably need surgery on her leg. She would also need some medication and vitamins, and most especially food so she can recuperate. You see, it is common for street dogs to have worms or infections of some type. And there is no doubt that Karma would need some medication to keep her healthy.

The man who rescued Karma explained how much money it really costs to rescue a dog like her. And they are aware that her recovery can be really expensive. They are just thankful that some people are willing to donate and help.

After spending at least $2,500, Karma would be fine. And soon, she would be ready to finally meet her new family!
