Cure stinky shoes.
Having a stinky shoe is unavoidable. No matter how much you try to keep your feet clean, your shoes might still smell especially after wearing them for a long time. The good news is you can easily get rid of the foul smell from your shoes using salt. Simply sprinkle some salt into your shoes overnight, and by morning you will be surprised to discover that all the stink has been absorbed. It also helps to prevent bugs from nesting in your shoes. You can also add baking soda to this mixture, but salt alone works just fine.
Unclog your drain
When your kitchen sink refuses to drain water, you can reach for the cabinet for a solution instead of spending a fortune on an expensive drain cleaner. All you need is ¼ cup of table salt and ¼ cup of baking soda. Pour these two into a bowl and mix. Then pour the mixture into your clogged drain after you have thoroughly cleaned it. Then pour ½ cup of vinegar down the sin as well. You will see it bubble, and that means it is working. Leave this for about 30 minutes before rinsing with hot water.
Get rid of Soap bubbles
Salt can help you get rid of bubbles while doing the dishes. Add some salt to your soap/detergent mixture and the liquid will be clear and free of bubbles.
Rid your home of ants.
Do you get ants in your home often, keep them away using salt? Sprinkle some directly onto the area ants commonly infest in your home or make a 1:3 salt to water solution and spray to get rid of the ants.
Stop a fire!
You should always have a fire extinguisher in your kitchen just in case a fire erupts. However, salt can also get the job done too especially if the fire isn’t threatening. A generous amount of salt should smother the flames in no time.
Cut through pan grease.
Getting baked-on grease off your kitchenware can be a daunting task. But salt can make the job easier. A layer of salt will absorb some of the residues then you can scrub the salt around with a dry sponge to remove the stain.
Clean your bathtub.
A mixture of salt, vinegar, grapefruit, turpentine or lemon will act as a cleaning agent and leave it sparkling clean. You can try it out and see the miracle it performs on your tub.
