Terri Irwin’s Children On Her Birthday: “Thank You for Being Born”

Terri Irwin celebrated her 58th birthday on July 20th. The widow of Steve Irwin received tons of love from her family on her birthday. They made sure that their mother would feel the love they have for her on her special day.

Her daughter, Bindi, posted a photo on her Instagram with her family. In the photo was a picture of Terri, Bindi, Bindi’s husband Chandler Powell, their daughter Grace Warrior, and Robert Irwin. They are all smiling for the camera wearing their matching Australia Zoo uniforms.

She shared the photo with the caption:
“Mum, I couldn’t wait to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! So excited to celebrate your birthday tomorrow and the amazing, beautiful, inspiring person you are… Thank you for being born. ❤️ I love you more than I could possibly describe and every day I’m grateful for your kind heart and strong soul. Of all the good things in this world, you’re the most wonderful.”

Robert Irwin, 18, Bindi’s younger brother, also took to Instagram to greet his mother with a Happy Birthday. He shared his sisters’ birthday greeting post for their mother on his Instagram story. But he also posted pictures he had with his mom, honoring her on her big day. In the caption, he wrote:

“Happy birthday mum! Thank you for taking us all on so many adventures and for inspiring me every single day. You are the strongest person I know. Love you.”

Chandler Powell, Bindi’s husband, also posted a video on his Instagram where he is seen releasing turtles into the water with Terri. He wrote: “Releasing sea turtles to the EAC with my awesome mum-in-law! Happy Birthday, Terri. Thank you for your unending kindness and constant support. Your unwavering strength and leadership inspire us all. Can’t wait to party today!”

Terri’s children weren’t the only people to celebrate her birthday. The celebrant also took to Twitter to share a special gift that she received from Paris Hilton who recently appeared in a commercial with Bindi and Robert. She posted a photo of the pink birthday cake with Hilton’s picture on it with this caption: “Thanks for the birthday cake @ParisHilton.”

In a May interview with People, Bindi talked about how thankful she is for her mother, who raised her and her brother on her own after their father died in a diving accident in 2006 in which a stingray pierced him in the chest.

She said, “[Mom] managed to raise two little kids as well as taking care of Australia Zoo and making sure it kept running, making sure Dad’s legacy continued on, keeping up with all of our conservation work on a global scale. I am speechless. I don’t know how she did it all. She’s such a strong superwoman.”

Terri didn’t entertain the thought of marrying again after Steve passed away. In her past interview with PEOPLE, Terri said, “You know, and I keep saying this, and I think maybe 15 years later people are finally starting to believe me, Steve was it for me. That’s just the way it is. I had a big, big love and it was enough to last a lifetime.”

When Steve Irwin passed away, his beloved daughter Bindi was only 8 years old at the time and his son Robert was just 2. Since then, their mother, Terri, took on the role of both their mother and daughter. Even without Steve in their lives, she made sure that the family continued his legacy.
