Uvalde Mother Who Ran Into The School To Save Children Says That Police Have Been Attacking Her For Her Actions

The school shooting that took place at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, was a horrifying event. Following the tragic incident, 19 children and 2 instructors were shot and killed by a single gunman. Others were harmed but managed and survived the ordeal but will forever carry in their hearts the trauma of the incident.

The people of Uvalde are in despair of the loss of the lives of the innocent individuals that perished on that day. Even those people who were able to survive are now having to learn how to deal with the anxiety and trauma that they experienced. They suffered the loss of members of their family as well as friends, classmates, and teachers.

Following the shooting incident, the police department received criticism for their actions, and lack thereof.

Residents claim that the police did not enter the school sooner which resulted in more lives lost. Some of the students called 911 and asked what was taking so long for help to come. They were confused and scared by the situation knowing that the gunman was still out there. Many people believe that the police did not act sooner.

One mother simply could not understand why the authorities did not act right away and enter the building in order to move the children to a secure location. She did not wait for the police to take action but instead, did what she had to do to save her children. And now, she said that the police are allegedly ‘harassing’ her for her actions.

Angeli Gomez left her everything that she was working on in the farm fields the moment she found out about the school shooting. She got in her car and drove as quickly as she could to her children’s school. She does not only want to know what’s happening, but she was determined to get them out of there as soon as possible. She was desperate to get her two children out of the school alive, and she was doing everything in her power to do it.

However, the police put her in handcuffs after she insisted on going into the school premises to get her children. But as soon as they let her go, she quickly climbed over a fence and went into the school, unconcerned about her personal safety since the gunman was still in the area. But she was intent on ensuring that her children were able to flee the dangerous situation. She is persistent to do it on her own if the police will not do anything to save them.

Thankfully, Gomez was able to locate both of her children. She was even able to help some of their classmates escape as well.

Despite the fact that this sounds brave and heroic, she claims that the police did not feel the same way. In fact, she alleges that the police are threatening to arrest her for her actions. She claimed to WFAA that she had noticed police cars passing by outside her residence, with officers observing her from inside. All she hoped was for this ‘harassment’ to stop because she only did what she had to do to save her children.

What are your thoughts about this mothers’ actions? Do you believe that the police have the right to reprimand her for her actions? Or did she do right by going above and beyond to save her children?
