Woman Pours Cement In Her Umbrella And Be Surprised By How It Turns Out

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, most of us were holed up in our homes and ran out of things to do. We end up spending more time watching videos online, most of them are DIY projects that we can try. We want to make use of the old materials that we have lying in our stockrooms or garage instead of letting them go in the trash bin.

This is known as “upcycling.” This is not only a great way to bring an old object back to life but is also a fun way to spend our free time. There are plenty of DIY ideas to learn, but what this woman did is definitely a must-try.

This DIYer was able to turn an old umbrella into a cement aquarium for her fish. If you love animals and you think that this is something that you should try, then read on.

You see, the process of turning an old umbrella into an aquarium is pretty simple. In fact, it’s easier than you think. Also, the end result is definitely something that would look good in many homes. This is probably why this video is going viral online.

In the video, a woman named Mihoko from Japan explains how she made her own fish tank out of an old umbrella. She first detached and removed all the hardware on the umbrella using pliers and screwdrivers. Then, the umbrella was cut into two pieces using a saw. This will allow for more space in the tank. The top part will be on the lid and is secured with four screws. The bottom half becomes the actual aquarium which you can fill with water and fish later on.

Pour the concrete mix into the umbrella and secure it on top of a wooden board until it’s completely dry. Once your DIY aquarium is dry and ready to use, Mihoko suggests that you should place some gravel at the base before you start filling it up with water. This way, your fish will not get sick.

The viral video that has since been removed has already reached more than 8 million views. People got really interested in the tutorial that they left some positive comments.

One comment reads: “I love the concept. It would make a lovely addition to a wedding or party. With the umbrella on top, it would have been beautiful to run the tubing up the tube and make it so it could flow over the top of the umbrella and cascade down. Also, a few mini lights under the top umbrella would look beautiful at night. Job well done.”

Another user was impressed by the project. The comment says: “Wow! That’s so cool! You make something so creative look so simple. It makes me feel like I could create like that, too, if I tried. Thank you for sharing!!!”

Creating something new is fun and really entertaining. If you are looking for DIY projects to entertain yourself these days, then the DIY aquarium from an old umbrella is definitely something that you should try. This is something that you can definitely do with your kids as long as you closely supervise them. Having live fish at home that they can take care of is definitely a plus to all this.
