Kid Contestant Can’t Help But Laugh At His Spelling Bee Word

Have you ever watched a spelling bee contest on television? If you have witnessed it in person, you’re lucky. These are pretty cool competitions where kids test their abilities and talent in spelling the most difficult words in the world. Even the audience can’t help but spell in their heads the given words to see if they can possibly be smarter than those smart kids on stage.

And the words given can be pretty interesting. Most of them are words that we as adults have never encountered all our lives. And yes, a lot of the words given can be spelled easily by these kids. And sometimes, it can’t be avoided that some of the words do sound funny.

One of the contestants of a spelling bee certainly didn’t hold back when he heard the word he was to spell. He can’t help but giggle as he steps away from the microphone to try to compose himself before he starts spelling the hilarious-sounding word.

His word was SARDOODLEDOM.

Have you heard of that word before? Have you ever come across it at least once in your life? We sure didn’t!

That’s not the kind of word that you’ll hear just anywhere. According to the trusted Merriam-Webster, SARDOODLEDOM is defined as “mechanically contrived plot structure and stereotyped or unrealistic characterization in drama.”

Even the definition is too complicated to comprehend!

Kennyi Aouad couldn’t help but laugh when he heard the word. And his laughter sure is contagious as the entire audience and even the pronouncer laughed along with him. Even the other competitors can’t hide their smiles either.

This probably felt like a breath of fresh air as we know how tense the atmosphere must be during these competitions. A single mistake can make the candidate lose their chance to proceed to the next round.

There is no doubt that even if they seem confident, these kids must experience jitters too by just standing in front of an audience while having to think and spell a difficult word. Kennyi though did not show any nervousness. He did not rattle when he heard this difficult word. His laughter may even have helped him relax a bit before he spells the word out.

He even asks if it’s “like kingdom” however the announcer doesn’t give him any clues. So Kennyi goes ahead saying he’ll give it a shot.

Then he says: Sardoodledom… S-A-R-D-O-O-D-L-E-D-O-M.

Yes, he got it right!

After hearing that he got the word correctly, Kennyi gets a huge round of applause from the audience. And that proud smile on his face is like saying that he surely deserves that applause there.

It was such a difficult situation, that’s for sure. But Kennyi did not show that he’s afraid, not a bit. He sure got the confidence that every spelling bee contestant must have. He was confronted with a situation he didn’t exactly know how to handle, but he just laughed it out.
