Zion Clark Was Born With No Legs And Now, He’s “The Fastest Man on Two Hands”

Zion Clark was born with no legs. But this did not stop him from chasing after his dream. He has never met a challenge that he didn’t want to overcome. And one of those is to become the fastest man on earth using his two hands.

Zion was born with the rare genetic disorder called ‘Caudal Regression Syndrome.’ His upper body developed fully but below his waist didn’t. He also grew up in the foster care system. And like other children who were born different, Zion often had to endure painfully and judging stares from strangers. And when he was old enough to go to school, he became a victim of bullying.

It had been a difficult growing-up year for Zion. But he did not let this get him down. Instead, this inspired him to develop a passion for athletics. Despite having no legs, he has incredible determination to succeed.

During his high school years, Zion started wrestling. He became one of the best athletes in his home state of Ohio. Even though he is different from the other athletes, his mantra is simple — “no excuses.”

He made sure to remind himself of this philosophy every day. He said, “I will always work with what I’ve got because I don’t really have any other cards that are dealt with me… I’ve got to play them the right way so I can be successful and win the card game.”

And when a new challenge came his way, Zion made sure to set his eyes on it. Zion hopes to be part of the Olympics wrestle team one day. And not only that, but he was also dreaming of winning more medals than other known athletes. Also, Zion hoped to go to the Paralympics and compete in wheelchair racing. He wants to be the first American to compete in both Olympics and Paralympic games.

And while he is building his career, a video of him shared on Instagram got the attention of the producers of the “Guinness World Record” book!

The video showed Zion running on his hands and he was fast that it quickly caught the attention of the Guinness World Records. They wondered if he might want to try to set the record for “World’s Fastest Man on Two Hands.”

And Zion is the type of person who never shies away from a challenge. And sure enough with this new challenge, he crushed it!

With former Olympians, his family, friends, and his coach cheering him on, Zion ran over 65 feet on his hands in just under 5 seconds. Zion will now be featured in the 2022 edition of “Guinness World Records.”

There is no doubt that this achievement will not only be his but also for other children who are living with the same condition as him.

He said, “The message I would give to kids with disabilities or anyone with a disability would be – It’s going to be hard, but if you’ve got the heart and the determination, you can go get what’s yours. If you’re disabled or you’re not disabled, the message stays the same.”

Zion is confident that he can achieve anything as long as he puts his heart and mind to it. With his passion and perseverance to succeed, no challenge will be difficult for him to reach, that’s for sure.
